Well for starters I've been on extended vacation which is why my blog site has been so dormant. Much to my surprise while I was away the Pickleball at Brookshire fell off extensively because of the heat of the summer, lots of afternoon rain, and the loss of many players who head north; as well as those who go on vactions like myself. It looks like in future years we might just informalize the program for those months of July and August and part of Sept untill it cools down a bit. We'll see, come next year.We hope play will pick up by the end of September. Play Tuesday and Fridays at 6:30 or 7 New Item: Brookshire Club Board of Directors are hoping to get approval in Feb 2006 from their residents to convert 2 tennis courts to 6 Pickleball Courts. We sure hope this happens but can't move on a building program untill it is approved, Red tape, but necessary. New Item: Brookshire Board has also been approached to host the 2006 Senor Games in Lee County for Pickleball which would be held in early Feb. 2006. I'll keep you posted New item: I have some new racquets (lightest on the market ) developed for George Brewer who has exclusive rights to sell them and has extended that right to me in SW Florida. They will cost $50 but in my opinion they are really the best. More later after I receive a shipment. |
