News Item SW Florida Lee County to host Sr Games Dec 2- 10

Senior Racquetball Players (age 50 to 90) from all counties in Florida, who have qualified to compete in the 2006 State Championship Games, will travel to the Ft. Myers (Naples ) area to compete for the Gold Medal in their sport..

Of the many sports offered, Racquetball Singles, Doubles will be held on Sunday, Dec 9th and 10th  2006 at the Naples Fitness Ctr 1048 Castillo Dr. Singles competition begins on Dec 9th as early as 10AM . At stake in these games is not only the gold medal for top Florida senior in each division for 2006; but also the right to represent the State of Florida at the prestigious National Sr Games to be held in Louisville KY in June of 2007. The top three players, in each division and age bracket will be eligible to represent the State of Florida  

 If you would like to see some active seniors compete in this fast sport plan to attend the competition on Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to finish.  For more info on the Sr Games click on http://www.flasports.com.

On the 8^th of December, at the Red Sox City of Palms Stadium, there will be a Senior Games Celebration, Parade of Champions, starting at about 4 PM.  Tickets to attend the celebration cost $7.00 and includes a meal.

My Dixie Strollers Dixieland band has been hired to perform at the stadium on the 8th to welcome all comers from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.  Don’t miss this exciting senior event.  This is the first year that Lee County has hosted the event and will also host it in December of 2007 and 2008.
