| October 30, 2006 | | Dixieland Music seems to be catching on in Old Ft Myers | Not only have the Dixie Stroller played all summer long on Friday Nights on First Street in the River District of Old Ft Myers since last Oct 2005; the have just agreed on new contract with the Downtown Redevelopment Inc to play for another 12 months. Someone once said " the reward for excellence is it is expected". That's the case with the Strollers who seem to have found a home where people expect to hear good Dixieland music every Friday night from 6:30 to 8:15PM. In addition the Ragtimers will play at the Sanibel Big Arts Festival, The Ft Myers RV Show, The Seminole Casino, and perhaps as part of the Festival of Lights in Feb.
