Public available Pickleball, in SW Florida for the most part, was started Jan 1 2005 at a private club called Brookshire Bath and Tennis on two chaulked tennis courts.
At the present time in Southwest Florida public access Pickleball is being played only at Wa-Ke-Hatchee Recreational Faciity in South Ft Myers. It is played only one day a week on Saurdays from 9 AM to 12 PM at Wa-Ka-Hatchee Rec Center. We have 3 indoor pickleball courts and room to add one more court as the group of players grow. Additional days of play may also be available later. We started open play at Wa-Ka-Hatchee on Feb 17th 2006 and have averaged about 15 players each session. Play at this time is open to all who come. Beginners are welcome to come and learn the game.
