Dixieland Channel adds a new dimension

Solo Banjo Show "An Evening With An Old Banjo Player"
Gerry French the manager of the Dixie Ragtimers has added still another face to the "Dixie Ragtimers". The addition comes as a show entitled "An Evening With An Old Banjo Player" i.e. Gerry French. Gerry certainly qualifies in the age department since he will turn 80 in May of 2010.

This is a new step in his banjo career which he started when he was 45. He is in hopes after perfecting the show locally he someday might get a chance to perform as an entertainer on the cruise ship. Working on cruise ships will not be new to Gerry since he has worked as a male dance host and as a dance instructor with his wife Jeannie in the past years.

His first two performances of this new show are scheduled for 29 Sept, 2009 and Dec 5, 2009 both at private clubs, one in New England and one in Ft Myers.

The show is 45 to 60 minutes long and has someting of interest for all, including someone from the audience actually playing the right hand part while Gerry plays the left hand part of the song "Ain't She Sweet" on the banjo.

The show contains some great old traditional Dixieland songs which the audience can sing along with since a neat 16 page program is printed for each show and is handed out as GERRY PERSONALLY GREETS each patron. The last page is printed as a critique sheet to be filled out by each patron.
